PHOTOS: 2023 Winter Pride New Zealand

Did you miss Winter Pride New Zealand this year? No worries! You can start planning for next year. Save the dates – August 23, 2024 – September 1, 2024 – to plan more than a week’s stay in Queenstown for Winter Pride 2024. You can check their website and or follow them on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram for more updates.

In case you didn’t know, Winter Pride New Zealand falls under the South Pacific Pride (SPP) umbrella alongside other projects such as Pride Pledge, Roll Out the Rainbow, and The NZ Rainbow Excellence Awards. Martin King and Mike Hughes started the small family-owned social enterprise and George Fowler joined in 2021 as the Associate Director for Pride Pledge and Winter Pride. And they always try to support other LGBTQ+-owned and operated businesses when pulling together epic annual events like Winter Pride.

Each year, a portion of ticketing fees for Winter Pride are donated to a charity of its choice. In previous years, Qtopia has been a selected charity. Qtopia is a social support service for LGBTQIA+ youth and their communities as well as an organizer for education events that “create lasting positive social change.” So, attendees can celebrate Pride with a purpose!

Vacationer Magazine wanted to pull a few photos together courtesy of the Winter Pride NZ Facebook page to let you see what you missed out on for the 2023 festivities, including the Festival Opening Day at Coronet Peak Pride Colour Run, Cardrona Pride Ski Parade, the Leather & Lace Party and much more. Check out a few fun photos below!
