Seemingly fresh off his family trip to the Galápagos Islands, Neil Patrick Harris is now sharing his adventures in whiskey tasting after returning from a whirlwind tour through Scotland. All the juicy details were revealed to subscribers of Harris’ weekly newsletter from Wondercade.
As described by the charming sitcom veteran himself: “Wondercade is a place where I will share a variety of my interests — food and drink, design, experiences and entertainment — directly with you. In this week’s newsletter NPH explained that the trip was arranged by his friends at The Scotch Malt Whiskey Society (SMWS). The trip started in Edinburgh where Harris and his companions had lunch at the Café Royal, the city’s longest running oyster bar, before heading over to SMWS’s members’ only club called ‘The Vaults’ where they tasted some premium whiskey with renowned expert Charlie MacLean. After that, the group had dinner at the famed Kaleidoscope Bar which was named Global Whisky Bar of the Year by Whiskey Magazine this year.
The following day, Harris and crew flew over to Islay, a small island off the Scottish west coast, in order to visit the Ardbeg and Lagavulin Distilleries. They topped that off on day three by heading to the majestic Western Highlands in order to tour the new Ardnamurchan Distillery, the owners of which really charmed the famed actor. From there Harris headed home to begin the promo for his recent Netflix show Uncoupled.
