Stay in One Place, Ski in Two Countries

For LGBTQ+ skiers and outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy spending time outdoors during the winter beyond popular Gay Ski Weeks – here’s a luxurious option! VRetreats Cervino, a part of the VRetreats collection of sustainable luxury hotels in Italy, now offers year-round skiing and accessibility to ski both Italy and Switzerland in one of the largest ski areas in the Alps.

A five-star experience built in 2021, VRetreats Cervino is perfectly integrated into the surrounding landscape in the heart of Valtournenche, one of the most popular ski areas in Europe. And in summer, it transforms into a paradise for active outdoor holidays.

Year-Round Skiing

The Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche Zermatt ski area is one of the largest in the Alps. It spreads over three valleys and two countries, Italy and Switzerland, with over 224 miles of slopes, that allow you to go from one resort to the other without ever having to take off your skis, for international skiing without borders. Also famous for heliski, sleigh dogs, snowmobiles, and tandem paragliding. Its 2-mile cross-country loop is suitable for both beginners and experts. Without a doubt, the Breuil-Cervinia resort’s most distinctive feature is the possibility of year-round skiing. The Italian-Swiss ski area that connects the towns of Valtournenche, Breuil-Cervinia, and Zermatt, are located on the Plateau Rosà glacier, which has many lifts and is always well covered in snow.

One of the most popular attractions is the Matterhorn Alpine Crossing, which on July 1st inaugurated the new Matterhorn Glacier Ride II facility, thus creating the last piece of the high-altitude connection between Italy and Switzerland. The highest and most innovative transalpine connection will enable everyone – not just skiers – to get to know the mountain, understand what it means to live at 11,500 feet, and see the walls of the Matterhorn while comfortably seated. It stops at the Piccolo Cervino, where you can admire 38 peaks above 13,000 feet.

In summer, in addition to the hiking trails that make the Matterhorn an internationally sought-after destination, one can also go trekking, mountain biking, and paragliding. An exciting via ferrata climbing route and climbing walls are also available for lovers of extreme sports. By the way, the 18-hole golf course is the highest in Italy.

Consciously Designed Luxury Hotel

After a thorough and recent renovation completed in the autumn of 2021, the VRetreats Cervino is an elegant refuge, with a refined design in harmony with the panorama and landscape of the Aosta Valley Alps. In line with the philosophy of VRetreats, the hotel is connected to the environment by large windows and terraces that create continuity with the outside, with views of a large forest, a golf course, and the majestic Matterhorn peak.

The hotel has 56 Superior and Deluxe rooms and 10 Suites, including 4 Spa Suites. From the sea to the mountains, the two sides of Italian cuisine are reinterpreted by the restaurant PANORAMA with its panoramic view and by the à la carte restaurant ABRì, which offers traditional, innovative dishes native to the Aosta Valley. Refined, high-quality dishes that preserve the typical tastes and flavors of the past and arise from the deep bond with the surrounding land.

A sumptuous area inside the lobby welcomes the Lounge Bar ZERO where you can sip delicious cocktails while enjoying a wonderful view of the Matterhorn.

The Matterhorn Valley, with its renowned resorts – from the Breuil-Cervinia, descending into the Valtournenche and up towards the exclusive Chamois or Torgnon – is an exquisite place with modern slopes and lifts, as well as a perfect summer destination.

The addition of the VRetreats Cervino expands the VRetreats collection, whose aim is to continually present clientele with new Italian locations. In fact, the hotel has a central role in brand positioning. The collection is appreciated around the world for its ability to redesign the concept of luxury, not as an end in itself, but as a key to accessing the beauty of Italy, and along those lines, VRetreats Cervino is characterized by discreet luxury, where wood and glass blend together to embellish the lines and furnishings. The project favored natural elements to complement the landscape, in addition to innovative, high-performance systems and thoughtful design touches, to make it highly eco-compatible.
