Trekking Team Group to Host Gay Trip to Everest Base Camp

The Trekking Team Group is putting together a gay trek to Everest Base Camp, the ultimate goal for high-altitude trekkers. Their aim is to create the most unforgettable experience for queer adventure seekers on the site of the tallest mountain peak in the world. As the organizers say: “You will be walking among giants, test your limit and discover your strength while making the trek of a lifetime.”

During the 17-day excursion, you will be immersed in the Nepali culture and breathtaking vistas exclusive to this part of the world. For the spiritualists out there, Nepal is the birthplace of Buddha so there is a multitude of temples and stupas to visit as you begin your journey from Kathmandu. From there you will take the visually jaw-dropping flight to Lukla where you will begin the trek.

While making your way to the Everest Base Camp, you will be making stops at Namche Bazaar and Dingboche so you can explore the famed Sherpa villages and adjust to the altitude. While on the trek you will be staying in ‘tea-houses’- simple accommodations, far off the beaten path, that will require you to bunk up together. Here you will be treated to authentic Nepali dishes prepared for you by the locals. It is important to note that there are no single-occupancy rooms available at these locations if that is a concern for you.

Once you hit the Everest Base Camp on the Khumbu Glacier you will proceed to climb Kala Patthar which will lead you to the absolute best vantage point in the world for observing Mount Everest. Along the way, you will be accompanied by an experienced Sherpa trek leader, assistant guides, and porters that will give you all the assistance you need in addition to filling you in on Sherpa culture. At the end of the trek, you can take some time to relax and enjoy anything you missed when you return to Kathmandu before going home.
