Tel Aviv Welcomes LGBTQ+ Tourists Back for Pride Month

Tens of thousands of tourists, celebrities, journalists, and influencers have already started to converge on Tel Aviv to celebrate Pride month. The city’s annual parade is scheduled for this Friday, June 10, officially kicking the all-month Pride celebration.

With more floats than ever, the parade will begin on Rokach Boulevard in the city, near the Sportek, and will continue to the show area in the Ganei Yehoshua Park, where the main stage will be set up for the main performances to take place. Throughout the parade, the trucks will showcase the best of Tel Aviv’s proud nightlife with an array of DJs, drag queens, dancers, and performers.

Official pride celebrations started last month with Dragovision, a drag version of the Eurovision song festival. And throughout June, the city’s LGBTQ community center will host several events in support of the whole community, including a picnic for the whole family, a neighborhood art festival, women-only raves, and performances with internationally acclaimed Drag Queens like Bianca Del Rio and Chelseaboy.

Local venues, clubs, and bars will also host several parties, such as Tel A Beef, the largest men-only, Bear party at the City Center on June 9, and the Women’s Pride Party at Zizi Club on June 10.

“We are so happy to be welcoming international travelers back for the Pride festivities in Tel Aviv and around Israel this year now that COVID restrictions have lifted,” said Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. “We are proud for visitors to know that we welcome the LGBTQ community and look forward to welcoming international visitors for Pride month and for all events around the country in June and beyond.”

The Proud Community, a local minority group fighting for equal rights, has helped to develop local traditions that will be reflected in this year’s Pride events, which will symbolize the theme “Back to Pride.” Hundreds of thousands of attendees will be allowed to participate in a demonstration of tolerance, openness, diversity, and acceptance of one another.

“Pride events in Tel Aviv-Yafo are a long-standing tradition with messages of equality and acceptance at their core. The city of Tel Aviv-Yafo, a warm home for all communities living in it and proud to be a groundbreaking city in relations to the LGBTQ+ community and a global source of inspiration, will celebrate and march this year with unconditional support in reaching full equality for every citizen, ” said Ron Huldai, Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo.
