SweetHeat Miami, a Pride Celebration for Women, Celebrates Its 15th Anniversary

It’s ladies’ night every night at SweetHeat Miami! And for those interested in attending, you should know that the annual weeklong event – celebrating its 15th anniversary – is set to begin tomorrow, May 16, and run through next Monday, May 22. It’s touted as “the only experience cultivated for women of all backgrounds and identities in South Beach and the Miami area.”

DJ Dimples is bringing her “Utopia on Earth” back to the hot, sweet streets of Miami! She had longed to throw an event that encompassed what she believed to be the ultimate party getaway. After years of deejaying other parties and events across South Florida and the United States, she dreamed of starting her own weekend that celebrated women from all over the world.

Dimples got to work, spending most of 2007 planning what would be SweetHeat Miami’s inaugural events. Throughout her career, she DJ’d in many of the clubs in South Beach, so she allied with those clubs, venues, and people. The inaugural SweetHeat Miami happened May 15-18, 2008, and the ladies have been partying it up every May since!

Cyndi Lauper said it best – “Girls just wanna have fun!” And it was quite evident, as the event drew a crowd of more than 1,000 ladies for the inaugural event. It just goes to show that ladies love a bright sun, a sandy beach, a beautiful bikini, and a big party!

Fast forward to merely six years later in 2015, and the event welcomed over 40,000 women from across the world to come and celebrate unity and enjoy the sweet “Utopia on Earth,” providing an exclusive weekend experience that women from all walks of life can enjoy.
