Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa Reopens with ‘Give Back’ Offers
Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, situated on 23 oceanfront acres at iconic Pu‘u Keka‘a (Black Rock), is now open to leisure travelers that the property has considered ohana (family) for more than 60 years. The resort team is committed to supporting its associates and neighbors who are still healing from the August 2023 wildfires and asks travelers to support the Maui economy by buying local, participating in volunteer experiences, and donating to those affected. In pursuit of these goals, Sheraton Maui has launched three new offerings: the Return to Maui package with a donation earmarked for each stay, Malama at Your LEIsure fundraising initiative in collaboration with a local artist, and Discover More of Maui with enhanced programming to discover local artisans and island destinations.
“While Sheraton Maui and the area of Kaanapali were physically untouched by the fires, many of the associates that make up our Sheraton Maui ‘ohana (family), lost their homes, possessions, and even loved ones. It has been our number one priority in reopening the resort that we incorporate programming that allows travelers to give back to our community, which is still grieving and has lost so much,” said Tetsuji Yamazaki, general manager of Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa. “The Aloha for Sheraton Maui Relief Fund, which was founded by our owners Kyo-ya Hotels & Resorts in partnership with Charitable Ventures to support impacted Sheraton Maui Resort ‘ohana, is a key component of our reopening efforts.”

Malama at Your LEIsure
In collaboration with local lei artist Danielle Kincaid and her Lahaina-based business Lei by Danielle, Sheraton Maui is offering commemorative Hawaiian leis to resort guests who donate a minimum of $100 upon check-in at the front desk to the Maui Imua fund. Crafted by hand, the leis are made from Burmese wood beads and flower petals molded from polymer clay, featuring pink flowers that are symbolic of the Maui flower: the Lokelani rose. One hundred percent of each donation goes towards the Maui Imua fund created by Kyo-ya Hotels & Resorts to provide financial assistance to resort associates impacted by the wildfires.
Discover More of Maui
Sheraton Maui is introducing new programming to continue its connection with and support of the local community in a time of great need while encouraging guests to discover more of the island’s diverse offerings. On February 5, Sheraton Maui will launch its “Meet the Artist” initiative, created to support Maui’s community of fine artists following the loss of Front Street in Lahaina, one of the United States’ top-grossing art districts. The “Meet the Artist” series will provide a venue for creators to showcase their work and amplify their vision and expression to travelers of the world. Sheraton Maui is proud of its community’s art-forward identity and through this series, seeks to help sustain the commercial viability of creating and sharing art on Maui.
The resort has also added a new route to its complimentary resort shuttle, bringing guests to the area of Kapalua, where they can take advantage of additional restaurant offerings, support island businesses, and experience the beauty of nearby beaches, walking trails, and more.
