6 Non-Binary Travelers and Influencers to Follow
At Vacationer, we enjoy celebrating everyone in our community regardless of how we identify. But because it’s Non-Binary Awareness Week and International Non-Binary People’s Day, we thought it would be appropriate to pull together a list of a few cool Non-Binary travelers and influencers who are on our radar and who you should consider following on Instagram and TikTok, too!
Some of the people featured on our list may not be strictly travelers, but we like their vibe and think you may want to consider checking them out. And of course, we know there are several others out there. So, feel free to share their handles in the comment section of this article below.
Sufi Malik
If you follow Vacationer, then you’re probably already familiar with Sufi Malik, who was featured as a Vacationer Magazine cover star with her fiancée, Anjali Chakra. In addition to giving us an insider’s perspective on travel, Malik breaks down what life is really like in a series of TikTok posts, “Being Queer and Muslim,” and also offers the occasional post sporting femme and masc lewks like below. This New York-based influencer is authentically herself/himself and we love it! Follow Sufi Malik on TikTok and Instagram.
Bani Amor
We love LGBTQ+ activists! And Bani Amor is on our list because they are not afraid to start those uncomfortable conversations about the intersection of decolonization and travel culture. Whatever they are doing to challenge the perception of travel as we know it… well, we’re here for it! Amor’s thought-provoking prose can be seen in a variety of reputable publications, such as Condé Nast Traveler (You’re Flying with a Disability), and Foder’s How Native Hawaiians Are Decolonizing Travel on Fodor’s website. Amor is one nonbinary traveler worth following on Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram.
Lindsay Cale
Lindsay Cale, who also goes by Linds, is a non-binary activist and writer who usually focuses on LGBTQ+ Travel & Fashion. She’s collaborated with brands such as Contiki, Hilton, Macy’s, and Dove, but her real passion lies at the intersection of travel and androgynous style. Some of her work has been published on EveryQueer.com. Whether it’s snorkeling in Zanzibar or sipping tea in Turkey, she is always soaking up the experience. You can keep up with Linds’ adventures on Instagram.
Isabelle Lieblein
We’re loving the fun energy and vibe we get when we scroll through Isabelle Lieblein’s posts on Instagram and especially TikTok! She is her authentic queer, non-binary self, providing cool tips and recaps of some of her travels via her Europe vlogs and posts about her Canada road trip, and yep, even being abandoned in Mexico. She packs a lot in one post, but there are always good nuggets of news you can use. Check out this post about her first rock-climbing experience!
Grey Stone
Social media can also be a place for us to find safe places for us to be our authentic selves. And Grey Stone is a non-binary lesbian who recently called out Sapphic Events (in Seattle), who allegedly claimed their Pride-related events were inclusive, but Stone spills the tea. See the post below. But that’s not all they talk about! In fact, Stone is organizing an all-queer trip to Thailand. Follow @femmedaddy69 on TikTok for more information about the upcoming trip and more!
Marley Conte
For non-binary parents looking for some guidance, you may not have to look much further than writer and speaker Marley Conte. The UK-based freelance writer and editor covers everything from how to celebrate Pride month with your kids to how to talk to kids about LGBTQ+ history and rights to how to support your trans/non-binary partner. Yeah, we know Conte doesn’t specifically focus on travel, but their messages are needed pearls of queer wisdom we can use in everyday life.
We also encourage you to check out their list of 50 trans influencers you should already be following, but if you want to know more about Conte, you can follow them @thenonbinaryparent on Instagram.
