Queer Holiday Celebrations in New York City
Vacationers far and wide would agree that the queer capital of New York City is a wonderful place to visit during the holiday season. The city itself transforms into a festive winter wonderland filled with so much to see and do that it can get overwhelming.
There are of course the traditional holiday mainstays that the city is famous for like the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and ice-skating rink, the light and window displays at Saks Fifth Avenue, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, and the lights of the Empire State Building, but we want to clue you in on some of the less famous and explicitly queer holiday happenings going on this year. The following is a rundown of some events we came across.
The Gay-Larious Holiday Laugh Festival
Catch this one-of-a-kind stand-up set on December 8 featuring NYC’s funniest LGBT and LGBT-friendly comedians from TV, Radio, and Comedy Clubs across the country. You’ll have a gay ole’ time with a line-up of hysterical comics designed to have you laughing right down to your gay funny bones.

Queer Art Winterfest
Taking place on December 10 at 3 Dollar Bill, one of Brooklyn’s most famous queer spaces, this event will be one of the biggest LGBTQIA+ marketplaces you’ll find in the city. Admission is free but there will be raffles where the collected money will go to support Queer Art Fest, whose mission is to create accessible points of entry into the artwork for queer artists and creators.
