‘White Lotus’ Creator Mike White Scouts Thailand Locations for Season 3

Ok, we’re still reeling from Season 2 of Mike White’s award-winning TV series White Lotus, but according to Variety, the show’s gay creator, Mike White, is spending time scoping out sites in Thailand. In previous seasons, Four Seasons’ properties have been the star of the show – Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea for Season 1, and for Season 2, Four Season’s San Domenico Palace in Taormina, Sicily.

Obviously, Season 3 is not in production yet, but Thailand is home to four different Four Seasons properties: Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya RiverFour Seasons Resort Chang MaiFour Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle, and Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui. All properties showcase the country’s diverse landscapes: city, country, beach, and jungle. And we can’t wait to see the amazing backdrop where the gripping, edge-of-your-seat drama will unfold for Season 3.

One thing we do know is that the next season of White Lotus will take on a more spiritual or religious vibe, according to a White in a clip at the end of the Season 2 finale.

“The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex,” said White. “I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round of White Lotus.”

With that in mind, fans have been speculating that if there’s a spirituality-focused storyline, then the Four Seasons Chiang Mai may be the top option with the site touting the property as “a haven for well-being” and “a sanctuary of well-being, perfect for unwinding, recharging and finding your fulfillment with individually-tailored experiences.” Restorative healing, yoga, breathwork, clean eating, and other holistic activities are also available to guests onsite.

Regardless of which Four Seasons property is chosen for White Lotus Season 3, we will be watching and keeping our fingers crossed that fan favorite Jennifer Coolidge (aka Tanya McQuoid) will make a return appearance if not next season, possibly for a prequel spin-off.
