Wynwood’s Colors Shine for Pride Month

Wynwood Pride Month is back this June, marking its 5th anniversary with a month-long celebration of LGBTQ+ diversity, inclusion, and unity. Pride celebrations and events are supported in part by the Wynwood Business Improvement District (BID) and organized by the non-profit Wynwood Pride, Inc. The neighborhood is marking the month that honors the 1969 Stonewall Riots that began the modern gay rights movement in the best way it knows how – with a fun range of parties and cultural events for all.

“Wynwood celebrates diversity and inclusion through vibrant colors and powerful messages,” said Manny Gonzalez, Executive Director of the Wynwood Business Improvement District. “From stunning murals to colorful performances, Wynwood’s LGBTQ+ Pride festival is a visual feast for all.”

To kick off the first weekend, there is a 21+ Rooftop VIP Pool Party at Arlo Wynwood Hotel on June 3 and Miss Toto’s drag extravaganza on June 9 at FunDimension. Additional events scheduled throughout the month include lip sync battles, drag brunches, dance parties, fashion shows, and art exhibits.

“Wynwood will be buzzing with excitement with what we think is the most fun and inclusive Pride celebrations in Miami,” said Liza Santana, publicist for the Wynwood Pride festival. “For us, the rainbow means just that – all colors, orientations, genders, and more, in our hot Wynwood mix.”

While the complete schedule of events is still coming together, full information about Wynwood Pride Month can be found at www.wynwoodpride.com, and on social at @WynwoodPride.
