Key West Prepares for Tropical Heat
Key West is busy preparing for the 10th anniversary of Tropical Heat, the ultra-successful 5-day all male, all adult event taking place this year from August 10-14. Hosted by the Key West Business Guild, Tropical Heat promises attendees hot gay-themed dance parties, pool parties, clothing-optional events, and adult-oriented entertainment in addition to all the normal activities available to visitors of this beloved queer island paradise.
Unfortunately, host hotel accommodations are sold out at this point but if you’re willing to travel a bit or are able to crash with friends, there are tickets still available to all of the main events. Other events such as bar nights and pool parties are open to everyone on a first come first serve basis. Here’s a rundown of the key events:
Wednesday, Aug 10th
5 pm – Official Tropical Heat Kick-off party at Island House
Pick up your passes, kick off your shoes and get naked!! Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and free shots. Giveaways & Prizes. Happy hour from 5:00-8:00 pm.
7 & 9 pm – Drag Show at Aqua (repeats every night throughout the weekend)
9 & 11 pm – Drag Show at 801 Bourbon Bar (repeats every night throughout the weekend)
10 pm – Male dancers on the bar at Bourbon Street Pub
Thursday, Aug 11th
11 am – All-Male Day Trip aboard the Blu Q. All Male + Clothing Optional. Snorkel and relax on a Sandbar. Snacks, water, coolers and snorkel equipment are provided. This event is BYOB. Spots are limited. Book HERE.
6:30 pm – Men Only Sunset Sails (21+) BYOB! Set sail on the Blu Q Catamaran for a scenic harbor tour and FAB sunset. Spots are limited. Book HERE.
9 pm – Christopher Peterson’s EYECONS at LaTeDa
10 pm — “SuperGay Party” at Mangoes – Show up in your favorite superhero costume. $25 entry purchase your tickets HERE.
Friday, Aug 12th
12 pm – Splash! Pool Party at Bourbon Street Pub
6:30 pm – 10 pm – Sexy Safari Pool Party with Ms. Bouvee at Alexander’s Guesthouse
10 pm – “Heat Stroke” Fetish party at Saloon 1
Saturday, Aug 13th
12 pm — Skinny Dip Pool Party at Island House. Only one way to skinny dip. Lockers are first come first served. Naked pool boys, complimentary shots, and raffle prizes are also part of the party.
9 pm – Christopher Peterson’s EYECONS at LaTeDa
10 pm – The Big “O” Exhibition party at Bourbon Street Pub
Sunday, Aug 14th
12 pm — Hot Naked Sunday Pool Party at Island House. After church and before tea, weekly, the only Hot Naked Sunday Pool Party. Naked pool boys, complimentary shots, and raffle prizes.
12 pm – 3 pm – Drag Brunch at Mangoes — It’s going to be a hot one! Get ready for Mangoes Drunken Drag Brunch Tropical Heat Edition! $50 includes Mimosas and the show! – Purchase your tickets HERE
