Experience Winter Down Under at Gay Ski Week Australia 2023
Gay Ski Week Australia is back and it’s time to get your skis and snowboards ready for some serious fun in the snow! Points of Difference Travel & Events is excited to announce the LGBTQIA+ festival of frosty fabulousness, friendships, and fun is returning to Falls Creek (Victoria, Australia) for its 13th season.
From September 1-10, 2023, join guests traveling in from all over Oz, for a two-week-long celebration for all things winter in the Southern Hemisphere. Whether you’re a seasoned skier or a snowboarding newbie, there’s something for everyone at Australia’s premiere winter pride event, Gay Ski Week Australia.
This year, they’re pulling out all the stops to make sure it’s of their best seasons yet. Frock Hudson’s Cabaret Lounge returns, located inside the host lodge Lakeside Falls Creek. The jam-packed lineup of events includes daily après ski parties, cocktail and cabaret nights, a piano bar, and of course, our infamous Rainbow Run.
But that’s not all! There are new activities for the new season! Take part in the Snowball Fight Tournament, look out for the pop-up Drag Performances around the resort, or test your knowledge during a night of 80’s Trivia hosted by Drag King Freddie Merkin. And there’s at least one Bingo with Balls night due to demand from the Village.
Points of Difference Travel & Events will partner with not one, but two amazing Australian queer film festivals: Bendigo Queer Film Festival from Victoria and Sydney’s Queer Screen. They will curate two special film shorts programs to screen on separate nights during the festival. These highly entertaining sessions will provide meaningful messages about the lived LGBTQ+ experience with a few camp twists thrown in.
In other exciting developments, the rainbow communities from Adelaide and Brisbane can now fly direct into Albury and jump on the shuttle coach straight – sorry, gaily – to the snow.
