Who’s Ready for The Dinah Shore Weekend 2022?

Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend, also known as “The Dinah,” is touted as the largest queer women event in the world. On the heels of its 30-year anniversary last month in Palm Springs, organizers announced that next year’s extended weekend getaway and music festival will kick off in late September 2022.

And if this year’s line-up is any indication of what it will be like next year… we’re all in! Some of the fun festivities included Kat Cunning’s Pool Party, Black & White Ball, the Saturday Hollywood Party, and the Sunday Funday Pool Party.

And there wasn’t a shortage of surprise guests and attendees, including British model, actress, and singer, Cara Delevingne, who joined the Saturday pool party at the Hilton Palm Springs. Real Housewives of Orange County’s Braunwyn Windham Burk, the first out housewife and first-time Dinah attendee, posted on Instagram, “My favorite part about this party [The Dinah] was that it didn’t matter who you were for a few days, you got to break out of your box, and be exactly who you are.”

To celebrate the 30th anniversary, there was a full roster of singers and bands for the music festival, which included Rozzi, St. Panther, Smeared Lipstick, Tommy Genesis, Doechii, Cece Peniston, and SWV, who came out sporting Dinah t-shirts. And an LGBTQ+ event just isn’t complete without the crowd belting out The Golden Girls theme song with Macy Gray!

Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend may mean something different to each person who attends, but organizers say, “the common thread is its unique ability to bind us all together as one big family and organically impart a sense of solidarity, community, kindness, and love.”

Thanks to Mariah Hanson, the CEO and founder of the popular event, chose Palm Springs Modern Art Museum to host her first Dinah Shore Weekend in 1991. It started out as a function where women could mix and mingle while surrounded by artwork worth millions of dollars. In an effort to be more inclusive and make attendees feel safe, Hanson made the necessary moves to expand the event and booked entire hotels, brought in national sponsors, booked popular national recording artists, and kept all events within walking distance for easy accessibility for all attendees.
