Best Beach Finds for Summer Fun

As the weather gets warmer, our minds turn to getting the right gear together for a trip to the beach. Here are some fab finds.

We have everything from swimsuits to sandals, beach towels to bug bite spray this summer. You name it, it’s time to find some creative and sustainable, fair trade, eco-friendly, and healthy new options this season, and we have them for you below.

Voglia Swimwear

Brighten up your poolside sojourn or day at the beach with these colorful, cheeky, sustainable swimsuits. Meaning “wish” in Italian, Voglia Swimwear wishes for cleaner oceans, beaches, and waterways and for saving marine life. For example, their capsule collection, Spaced Out, is made in Italy from recycled ocean trash, such as illegal fishing nets. This means a surprisingly soft and strong synthetic material, but better. Plus, 10% of all sales benefit The ROLE Foundation, benefiting Indonesian women. Voglia Swimwear also gives back to One Tree Planted, a nonprofit dedicated to global reforestation. So you can do something for the planet, even while having a beach day!

For the masculine-identified or nonbinary person, the Euro Bond Trunk from Voglia Swimwear in collaboration with Wood Underwear will have you turning heads poolside. The subtle honeycomb pattern combines with rosy tones to make this a very pretty trunk. Now let’s talk about the manufacture: It is made in Indonesia from recycled Italian yarn, pilling resistant and immune to chlorine, sun cream and oil.

For the female identified, the Tori Bikini in Voglia Swimwear’s newest collection, “Very Poppy,” is hot out of the closet and available as of May 1, 2025. The message behind Very Poppy is to hope for peace and renewal in this world. Voglia Swinwear founder Ashley-Victoria Smith partnered with Lollipetals to create a collection that greets this new summer season with optimism and intentionality toward freedom of choice. The poppy is a sacred flower across cultures and always offers hope, even in dark times.

Both swimsuits offer a splash of color and fun and are not for the body shy. To quote Ashley-Victoria Smith: “I was awarded ‘Most Likely to be President of a Nudist Colony’ at our Girl Scout Camp Counselor Award Ceremony in 2003—it’s true, I hate clothes but always found comfort in swim. I never thought I’d wake up and say ‘I’m going to start designing bikinis’. No, I literally dreamt it after 10+ years of producing luxury swim and lingerie fashion shows; it’s like the Universe was talking to me. I always say, ‘You can stay asleep and dream or you can bring your dreams to life‘, so I am bringing my dream to life.” You go, girl!

And you must hurry and put your order in because Voglia Swimwear regularly sells out.

Mykos

Whether you are a constant traveler or you just lead an active lifestyle, summer is the time of year when you seek something freer in terms of footwear, but also a shoe that will be sturdy enough for walking, climbing, and soft outdoor adventure. We like Mykos, because it believes every journey should be a delightful experience. Its shoes are crafted with the highest quality materials and patent-pending technology to ensure that your feet are supported and comfortable, no matter where life or your travels take you.

The Gill slide sandal is masc-unisex and combines style and comfort. Featuring an adjustable hook-and-loop design for a secure fit, it’s ready to accompany you on every adventure, whether that’s beachcombing along a rocky shore or strolling through a mountain village.

Experience the carefree charm and boundless joy of the Jovie sandal, adorned with vibrant colors and a playful silhouette to elevate your every step. We love the shock absorber sole so your feet don’t become fatigued, as they can when you walk far in flip-flops. They travel from beach to resort with aplomb.

The Nami thong sandals are crafted for ultimate comfort and effortless style. Your go-to pair for the summer season, they’re perfect for slipping into a weekender bag and accompanying you on your next adventure, whether strolling through town or exploring new destinations.

All Better Co.

When you go to the beach or campground or the park for a picnic; when you sit out on the porch, or by the fire pit or fall asleep, poolside, you’re bound to encounter some ouchies. Whether that’s a mosquito bite, a sand fly, some sunburn, a stray ember, even a blister from your new sandals, or even stepping on a sharp object barefoot—you name it, things happen when you go outdoors. But All Better Co. has a product for everything! Here’s one example: Before you’re tempted to scratch at that bug bite, slap on a Don’t Scratch That Patch before you go to sleep, and your skin will be happier and less likely to scar.

All Better Co. has applied the concept of effective home remedies to first aid. Traditional plastic bandaids, petroleum-based salves and steroid- rooted anti-itch products are not good for you or those you love. Founded by two loving and proactive moms, All Better Co. offers plant-powered, skin-first solutions that give scrapes, cuts, burns, bites, and bumps the love and attention they deserve with products that your body will feel good about, especially if you are immunocompromised.

No matter where you travel this summer, even if it’s in your own backyard, take our advice and stock your mini first aid kit with some wonderful products from the moms at All Better Co.

FEATURED: onewith swim

Now here’s an idea: swimwear for the person who…hates swimwear! This can be many of us, as we greet summer with dread, because of things like: Will our favorite swimsuit still fit us after the cold of winter; will we open the drawer to find it faded and motheaten by chlorine? Why can’t a swimsuit be reliable and fit and last—like a bodysuit or a skim wetsuit?

A native resident of the Connecticut shoreline, Hayley Segar loves the beach and was determined to do something about the swimsuit blues. “I always loved fashion, but hated swimsuits. I knew there was something wrong with it, but coudn’t put my finger on the exact issue. I just sucked it up and wore subpar swimwear that dug and squeezed, year after year.”

About five years ago, Segar had her lightbulb moment after trying on dozens of swimsuits. “I literally said out loud out of frustration, ‘I just want a swimsuit that fits like my favorite no-show underwear does.’ And it was in that moment that it hit me. I knew had to create it.”

Fast forward to November 2021 when Hayley launched her patent-pending swimsuit concept that is truly ‘onewith’ a wearer’s body. Size-inclusive, edgeless, dig-free, and elastic-free, onewith is everything normal swimwear, as we know it, is not.

Women wanting swimwear that fits like underwear is nothing new; onewith is simply the brand that brought it to life, filling a white space in an otherwise saturated industry. onewith consistently goes viral for this reason.

We tried the Bellows Plunge High-Cut One-piece in a deep charcoal color, aka “Abyss.” The silhouette offers a super secure, deep V neckline combined with a high-cut leg and a sculpting, smoothing waist for a confidence-boosting fit. No digging, no pinching, no squeezing into your sides. No bunching or bagging and sagging, either. This flattering item is a keeper. See you at the shore!

EDITOR’S PICK: Drytek by Delilah Home

Here’s something we love: Beach products that focus on sustainability and luxury. Founded by visionary Michael Twer, the company is dedicated to creating high-quality, eco-friendly home goods that are safe for people, pets, and the planet. From organic cotton bed sheets to performance towels, Delilah Home is committed to blending comfort, sustainability, and care in every product.

The heart of Delilah Home’s story is deeply personal. The company is named after Delilah, a golden retriever puppy who captured the hearts of her community after surviving 62 days alone in the North Carolina mountains. Delilah’s incredible spirit of survival and resilience became the symbol of strength and community, inspiring Michael Twer and his family to create products that value sustainability, compassion, and community-centered values.

And so, Delilah Home creates luxurious home goods using only 100% organic cotton and hemp, free from harmful chemicals, allergens, and toxins. All products are certified organic, vegan-friendly, and made in ethical factories in Portugal, known for their adherence to sustainable practices and fair labor standards.

We tried their eco-friendly 100% organic cotton Sunset Beach Towel and were delighted by its quality and aesthetic sense of design—cotton weave on one side, plush on the other and available in four subtle strip colors. Additionally, the more vibrant Drytek High-Performance Towel is made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. Each towel uses between 24-60 recycled plastic bottles, so you are doing something to help your environment because there is nothing worse than going to the beach and finding it littered with people’s discarded plastic.

The towels are called “Drytek” because they are engineered to dry faster than traditional towels, which is a bonus if you are having a quick swim or workout before packing and getting on the road again. The Drytek towels are not only made from recycled materials, but they are also dyed with low-reactive, non-toxic dyes, allowing for future recycling. Plus, our innovative Take Back Program ensures that once your towel has reached its end of life, it can be repaired, donated, or recycled – making it a truly circular product.

Both varieties of towels are suitable for sports days, surfing, gym, picnic, pet adventures, and even in the guest bath and pool house. The benefits: lightweight, super absorbent, antimicrobial, and odor-resistant (no one likes a crusty, musty towel), sand and dirt resistant, and compact, rolling easily to fit into backpack, suitcase or picnic basket.

Berlook

There was something about the Contrast Trim Knotted One-Piece Swimsuit from Berlook that we loved. It was classic, not too revealing and yet had some lovely details. This is the swimsuit for strolling and sunbasking. And then we looked at the brand’s other options and we were equally delighted. This is a mid-price label that has something for every body shape and skin tone—and modesty level. And most importantly for us, Berlook has a commitment to sustainability, ethical production, social responsibility, and gives back 1% of profits to climate change initiatives.

These days, it’s important for us to recommend products that actively contribute to cleaning up the world’s beaches. Berlook reports that to date, more than 1,177,746 plastic bottles have been recycled to make their swimsuits, saving plastic waste from landfills and kept out of our oceans.
