Best 10 Destinations For Solo Female Travelers Revealed
A recent study has found some surprising destinations take the top spot for women traveling solo and looking for affordable cultural immersion.
With more women embarking on solo adventures this year, you might be wondering which destinations offer the best experience. A recent Statista survey revealed that solo female travelers prioritize cultural and historical attractions when choosing destinations—but what about affordability?

While treating yourself to a solo journey is rewarding, saving money means having funds left for future adventures. So where can solo female travelers enjoy memorable experiences without breaking the bank?
The team at online discount platform Wethrift analyzed the top 30 countries on the Women Peace and Security Index 2023 to determine the most affordable destinations for female solo travelers. Poland emerged as the clear winner with an impressive score of 99.59.

At a glance:
- Poland ranks #1 overall with an excellent safety score of 61.97 for walking alone at night while offering the most affordable daily food costs ($7.37) and budget-friendly transportation ($1.14).
- Lithuania (#2) and Slovakia (#3) follow closely with wallet-friendly accommodations and transportation costs around $1.08, making Eastern Europe a standout region for cost-conscious solo travelers.
- While Spain (#8) offers 593 solo traveler tours and Croatia (#7) provides 375, some highly-ranked destinations like Slovakia (#3) and Lithuania (#2) have just 15 and 16 tours, respectively, suggesting untapped potential for tour operators.

This study shows how Poland has successfully positioned itself as both a culturally rich destination and a surprisingly affordable option for solo female travelers. With its strong safety score for walking alone at night and the lowest daily food costs among all ranked countries, it highlights how Eastern European countries are emerging as premier destinations for independent women travelers.

Nick Drewe, CEO and trends expert at Wethrift, comments: “As more women plan solo vacations, destinations that balance safety, affordability, and authentic experiences will likely see increasing tourism from this growing demographic.
