‘No Plans to Cancel’ BeefDip 2022, According to Organizers

Despite an increase in COVID-19 cases due to the Omicron variant, BeefDip organizers stress that health and safety come first, encouraging attendees not to travel or take risks if they have vulnerable immune systems or have not been vaccinated. In a recent email update about the annual Bear Week event, it states, “We know times have been difficult for all, but we trust in the science and the work of health departments all over the world.”

Sent last Friday, Dec. 24, the update also said, “At the time of this message there is no plan on canceling or postponing BeefDip 2022 (Jan. 30 – Feb. 6) and the event continues as expected.” Attendees should remember that proof of full vaccination is required to attend BeefDip and to pick up your dog tag.” A booster shot (second or third dose depending on the brand of vaccine you received) is highly encouraged.   Many local businesses are still requiring the use of masks as they are in many parts of the world, so please be respectful when you navigate your way around Puerto Vallarta.

At BeefDip, they have different types of events. In addition to the planned club nights, they also offer many open-air events such as the ZipLine tours, a Booze Cruise, the Bearaoke Night, pool parties at Blue Chairs and Mantamar, the new BeefDip Art Flair at the Blue Chairs rooftop, and fun on the open-air terrace at Los Amigos Bar. You can also explore Puerto Vallarta and its jungle on Bears on all Fours, a three-hour tour on ATVs.

For those who have already purchased their dog tags, please remember that they are NON-TRANSFERABLE and NON-REFUNDABLE (under the purchasing agreement, which has been in place for 5 years prior to the pandemic). Why? Because venues and services are paid in advance so organizers can accommodate all attendees. It’s also a way to ensure they give back to the host city, devastated during the initial waves of the pandemic.  Their ‘mask for mask’ policy will be encouraged when possible.

BeefDip has teamed up with the local HIV/community, SETAC, to provide PCR and Antigen COVID tests with discounts for dog tag holders before returning home, required for most international travelers, including citizens of the U.S. and Canada. BeefDip attendees are also encouraged to bring whatever rapid antigen home testing kits they have for greater peace of mind.
