Attitude Magazine Honors LGBTQ Travel Trailblazers
Our colleagues over at Attitude Magazine have released their list of LGBTQ+ trailblazers changing the world in 2023 which includes pioneers in the travel industry.
Aptly titled the Attitude 101, the beloved queer lifestyle magazine out of the UK is highlighting 101 individuals in our community who have made a splash in their respective fields. They are honoring 10 people in 10 predefined categories and one ‘Person of the Year’. The categories include: Film, TV & Music; Politics; Sport; The Future; Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics; Third Sector & the Community; Media & Broadcast; Fashion, Art & Design; Business, Financial & Legal; and of course, Travel.
Alice Oseman – the creator and writer of the smash hit graphic novel and television show Heartstopper has been proclaimed person of the year. As for the honorees in the travel sector, they are as follows:
Meg Ten Eyck, Travel writer and former Vacationer of the Week
Aisha Shaibu-Lenoir, Founder of Moonlight Experiences, an experiences and events organization dedicated to the celebration of queer culture through tourism & nightlife with a focus to uplift queer women, non-binary, and Black/POC.
Peter Jordan, Founder of Gen C Traveller, a site offering insights on how Gen C (consumers focused on creation, curation and connection, particularly millennials) interacts with brands and uses their purchasing power.
Clayton Mercieca, President of Allied Rainbow Communities and coordinator of Malta Pride
Daniel Pasquali, Divisional Director of Leisure Sales for Belmond North America
Damon Dominique, YouTuber, and author
Nick Johnson, Co-founder of Pride at Virgin Atlantic and senior sales account manager
Jenny Southan, Founder and CEO of Globetrender, a travel trend forecasting agency and online magazine dedicated to the future of travel.
Amy Martin-Ziegenfuss, Hilton’s Senior vice president for Global Brand and Enterprise Marketing
Oriol Pamies, Founder of Queer Destinations, a leading international LGBTQ+ tourism company which through awareness programs, consulting and marketing strategies, connect governments, destinations and companies with queer travelers around the world.
