Air New Zealand to Host Flights to Sydney WorldPride

Air New Zealand is celebrating WorldPride 2023 by hosting the world’s highest drag show at 40,000 feet with fabulous fashion and plenty of colorful, onboard entertainment.

If you want to join the thousands of queer revelers at the largest global LGBTQIA+ event in Sydney, then you don’t want to miss out on Air New Zealand’s direct flights from Auckland and San Francisco. So, LGBTQ+ travelers can book a direct Air New Zealand flight from San Francisco to Sydney on February 20, 2023, and another one from Auckland to Sydney on February 24.

Building on the legacy of the Air New Zealand Pink or queer-friendly flights, the airline has recruited drag queen Anita Wigl’it from RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under to keep customers entertained as they make their way to Sydney’s WorldPride Mardi Gras. Drag shows, dance routines, and other surprises are already planned to help get the Pride festivities started!

“Join me on the fabulous WorldPride 2023 Themed Flight from Auckland to Sydney on Friday, 24th Feb! Why fly when you can party,” said Anita Wigl’it via an Instagram post. The Drag Race star gives guests a heads-up on what to expect including a pre-flight gate party.

Anita Wigl’it explained: “Customers on board need to get ready for the trip of a lifetime! Expect silliness, fabulous entertainment, and a trip so enjoyable that the journey is just as good as the destination.”

“We’re so excited to be putting on these flights to celebrate WorldPride and the diversity of our people and our customers,” said O’Brien. The flights are part of our wider mission to tautoko (support) employees and customers who are part of the Rainbow community and advocate for inclusion.”
