Adele Turns Up at an Iconic London Gay Club
Adele stunned clubgoers in a surprise appearance at Heaven Nightclub, a London gay bar. In a series of posts on social media posts, the singer was spotted at the club’s weekly G-A-Y Porn Idol event.
And the 33-year-old singer and songwriter had every reason to celebrate that night. She had just received trophies for best artist, album, and song of the year (“Easy on Me”) at the British Phonographic Industry’s annual awards ceremony.
The interwebs were buzzing and captured Adele turning up with a few drinks and lip-syncing for her life to the Weather Girl’s “It’s Raining Men.
RuPaul’s Drag Race U.K. alum Cheryl Hole hosted and judged G-A-Y’s Porn Idol event, where contestants compete in a strip pole contest and win cash. The event has often been hosted and judged by Drag Race alum visiting London, like Trixie Mattel.
Adele was brought up on stage to help Hole judge the amateur contest, and the British singer gave the pole a try, too!
If you plan on visiting London, you can’t leave without visiting Heaven – a staple of London’s LGBTQ+ nightlife scene. Located on Villiers Street in London’s Charing Cross area, Heaven is a popular music venue and home to the G-A-Y nightclub which has a variety of weekly events. It’s one of the city’s longest-running gay dance clubs.
In addition to Porn Idol on Thursdays, G-A-Y hosts Camp Attack on Fridays and a general dance night on Saturdays.
