Azamara Onward Sets Sail for World Voyage in 2024
Queer travelers who have always wanted to go on a trip of a lifetime around the world have a new option. Luxury travelers can take Azamara’s World Voyage when the cruise liner’s newest ship, the Azamara Onward, sets sail on a world cruise from Fort Lauderdale on Jan. 5, 2024.
The 155-night voyage will visit more than 40 countries on six continents, including stops to visit the Seven Wonders of the World. The Onward will do 22 overnight stays and 27 late nights in ports.
Cruisers can expect a number of add-on immersive overnight experiences and excursions that include a three-night Great Wall of China Tour to Beijing; a six-night Christ the Redeemer tour to Rio de Janeiro and Iguazu Falls; a glass-bottom boat excursion and snorkeling on an island in the Great Barrier Reef; and a visit to Transylvania, to learn about Vlad the Impaler, the inspiration behind Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
But this journey around the world won’t be cheap! The amenities included as part of the trip are worth more than $20,000 and include a $7,000 onboard credit, business-class air travel, and a premium beverage package for two.
Bookings are currently open to Azamara Circle Loyalty members only and will be open to all eager world travelers on Dec. 7.
If you can’t afford the price tag of the world cruise or take 5 months off from work, you may want to consider one of the cruise line’s 39 new itineraries they’re rolling out in 2023 and 2024. Right now, Azamara requires all crew and guest 12 and older to be fully vaccinated at least two weeks before boarding a ship. Passengers are also mandated to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test.
Editor’s Note: Those who travel are strongly encouraged to check local government restrictions, rules, and safety measures related to COVID-19 and take personal comfort levels and health conditions into consideration before traveling.
