Fabulous Inns to Stay and Celebrate Pride Month Along the California Coast
This June, you might be headed to a Pride parade and festival, or you might prefer a drive along the California coast to make a road trip out of the various festivities, and taste some wine.

Inn at Playa Del Rey – Playa Del Rey
A peaceful respite situated near the bustling Venice Beach and just five minutes from LAX, the Inn at Playa Del Rey makes guests feel like they’re a world away from it all. The guestroom terraces and the sundeck, with expansive views of the serene Ballona Wetlands Preserve, provide a relaxing atmosphere to take in refreshing sea breezes. - Los Angeles Pride will take place on June 8, and while A-list acts haven’t yet been announced, the annual world-famous event features a parade and festival, with LGBTQ+ icons, local vendors, and fun activities.
- Roosterfish is a longstanding bar in Venice, known for being a queer-only bar for many years but now welcomes both the LGBTQ+ community and allies alike. The bar serves craft cocktails and often hosts live DJs and speed dating events.
- Baja Cantina is a Mexican restaurant serving a diverse menu inspired by Baja California and located by Venice Beach in Marina del Rey. The restaurant hosts “Gaywatch,” a monthly queer dance party and other events for all to socialize.
Channel Road Inn (Santa Monica)
Channel Road Inn offers a tempting smaller boutique inn experience over big-city accommodations in the Los Angeles area. Many of the 15 charming guestrooms in this finely crafted, historic inn offer fireplaces, balconies or a peek of the ocean. All guests receive warm hospitality, and will find modern comforts and a host of signature amenities. - SaMo Pride celebrates love, diversity, and inclusion throughout June with exciting events, parades, and activities. A can’t-miss event is Pride on the Promenade, a vibrant event on June 21 with live musical performances, themed treats, giveaways, and more for all ages at the iconic Third Street Promenade.
- Socalo is a woman- and LGBTQ+-owned SoCal Mexican restaurant, specializing in shareable items, from award-winning chefs Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken. Steps away from the Santa Monica Pier, Socalo has indoor and outdoor dining, with open-air sidewalk seating and an expansive shaded patio dotted with heat lamps and romantically lit by string lights.
- Pippi + Lola is a queer, woman, and Latinx-owned shop offering houseplants and lifestyle goods, focusing on elevating those from female, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ brands and makers.
Milliken Creek Inn (Napa, CA)
Awarded the coveted MICHELIN Guide Two Key designation in 2024, Milliken Creek Inn offers one of the most exclusive hideaways in Napa Valley. Tucked amid 3 lush acres overlooking the idyllic Napa River, its stylish accommodations and personalized service offer a relaxing, intimate setting just minutes from world-renowned wineries. - Napa Pride’s annual festivities feature dances, parties, parades, and food and wine experiences. 2025’s lineup of events includes a weekly Sunday Social, hosted by communal market Deuces Market, and Sip & Support hosted Clif Family Winery, where attendees can enjoy street food and a live DJ, with a portion of food and beverage sales benefiting the LGBTQ Connection.
- Corner 103 is an LGBTQ+- and POC-owned winery with a tasting room, where owner and founder Lloyd Davis seeks to create an environment where visitors can learn about wine in a relaxed, non-intimidating atmosphere.
- The Q Restaurant & Bar serves American heritage/authentic Memphis-style barbecue and frequently hosts events with drag performances, including happy hours and Mardi Gras parties.
Inn at Sonoma (Sonoma, California)
The Inn at Sonoma, located just two blocks from the historic Sonoma Plaza, is the perfect destination for those wanting to visit renowned restaurants, wineries and shops. The bright and airy inn is inviting and warm, and offers 27 well-appointed guest rooms with a king, queen or two beds. Guests can unwind on their private deck or on the top-floor sundeck with a hot tub.
- Sonoma County Pride takes place in downtown Santa Rosa and will begin the 2025 celebrations with the Annual Pride Flag Raising on May 30, followed by an adults-only kick off event with drag performances and a DJ dance party at Shady Oak Brewing.
- Eco Terreno is an LGBTQ+-owned winery from founder and winemaker Mark Lyon. The winery produces a series of purpose-driven lines, each supporting social justice issues. The first wine of the series was the Pink Pride Rosé, which the winery frequently donates to LGBTQ+ foundations and events across the Bay Area.
- Brew Coffee and Beer is an LGBTQ+-friendly spot in downtown Santa Rosa. The coffee and beer house often hosts events for the queer community, such as a sapphic book club, speed dating, and tea parties.
