SNL Pokes Fun at Alaska Airlines’ Door Plug Incident

We all need a little levity in our lives these days! So, we’re hoping to give you a hilarious pick-me today. We’re sharing a recent Alaska Airlines sketch on Saturday Night Live (SNL), featuring Saltburn hottie and guest host, Jacob Elordi along with SNL cast members.

In case you didn’t know one of Alaska Airlines’ planes had to make an emergency landing when part of the cabin broke off mid-take off.  And in true SNL fashion, the skit joked about the forthcoming changes the company would be making to keep passengers safe, including making updates to their safety manual, which now looks like an old-school thick phone book.

According to the spoof ad, other safety measures include the plane “taking off with the inflatable slide already deployed” and even taking steps to hire Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger to help stick those landings in emergency cases. And in character, gay SNL cast member Bowen Yang jokes that instead of a souvenir airline pin, passengers will receive a commemorative photo of the flight similar to those candid snapshots taken on an amusement park ride.

We won’t reveal all the humorous gems in the sketch, so take a look below.
