The New Vacationer Directory Will Inspire Your Next Queer Getaway

Ok, you may have noticed that the design of Vacationer Magazine’s website received a facelift within the past couple of weeks. Yeah, we’re still tweaking a few things, but one of the main reasons we’ve changed our look is to debut the Vacationer Directory, a curated list of LGBTQ+-owned and friendly accommodations to help inspire your next queer getaway.

In less than two years since we launched our website, it has rapidly grown to reach a global audience of nearly half a million people each month, a number that continues to grow month over month. This growth combined with the LGBTQ+ community’s desire to travel meant it was the perfect time for us to launch a Directory.

“It felt right to launch a directory where queer readers can find a hotel, they know will welcome them,” said Richard Jones, one of the Co-CEOs of Gray Jones Media, Vacationer’s publishing company.

Plans are already underway to promote the Vacationer Directory via the Gray Jones Media network of sites to a combined reach of more than 3 million LGBTQ+ people every month! This cross-promotion and access to reach is something unique to the Vacationer Directory that other LGBTQ+ travel directories can’t offer.

“The reach we can offer to promote these accommodation options is huge and ever-growing,” said Robin Gray, Co-CEO of Gray Jones Media. “Travelers and accommodation owners alike will be thrilled with what we’re offering them and our community.”

Attention: Accommodations Owners

The Vacationer Directory has launched with accommodations in five key US States pre-loaded: Florida, New York, Texas, California, and Illinois. Accommodation owners will be emailed to confirm their listing is in place and can be claimed. Every month, more accommodations in more U.S. states and countries will be added to the Directory.

These free listings offer basic information about the accommodation including name, website, and address. However, owners have the option of upgrading their listing(s) to two additional levels – starting at an incredibly low price of just $199 a year – to add more information and photos to help their listing appeal even more to travelers looking for inspiration in their desired destination.

No matter where you are around the world, accommodation owners have the ability to add their listings to the Directory. And of course, if your listing is in a country or state where few listings have been entered, then your listing will automatically stand out more, making your accommodations the go-to option for LGBTQ+ travelers!

Owners of hotels, resorts, inns, bed & breakfasts, and other related accommodations are encouraged to visit vacationer.travel/directory and add a listing. For info on claiming a listing, take look at vacationer.travel/claimlisting.
